QR Station – Reception

All, or nearly all of our Nursery children continue into Reception where they are joined by new children to form our two Reception classes each year.  We have two forms in each each group, but in September 2025 we expanded Year 4 and 5 to three forms due to larger numbers of children; it is anticipated that in September 2026 we will have three forms in Years 4, 5 and 6.   

In Reception, the Early Years Foundation stage continues with the focus on the seven areas of learning. All Reception teachers and teaching assistants are phonics trained and highly experienced. Children’s learning journeys are individual with teachers focusing on ‘next steps’ through a highly integrated programme of teacher-led and child-initiated activities throughout each day, further punctuated by specialist lessons in PE, Music, Drama, Yoga, French and Forest School.  

A range of very popular after school clubs start in the Spring Term for Reception children.
