Earlier this week we shared a photo of our hockey players, sticks raised high in celebration, with a simple message: some lessons are not in the classroom. It struck a chord, because it captures something every Littlegarth family already knows. Teamwork, resilience, courage, the discipline to keep training on a cold morning (or attend the 8am running session!), the grace to win well and lose well: these are learned on the pitch, in the pool, in the lab and on the stage. At Littlegarth, they are not extras. They are the education.
Twenty-one years unbeaten
This week our swimmers won the ISA East Anglia Swimming Competition for the 21st year in a row. That is not luck, and it is not one golden generation. Swimmers move up and move on every year, yet the result stays the same. It is what happens when children get expert coaching, regular time in the water and a school culture that expects them to aim high.
Success that runs right through the school
Swimming is the headline, but it is far from the whole story. The same spirit shows up wherever our children are given the chance to shine.
On the pitch and court, in National STEM competitions, in our huge staged productions, our coding programme, our Maths Challenge results, a broad education doesn’t dilute excellence. It multiplies it. Children who discover they can win in one arena carry that confidence into every other.
Ready for what comes next
The proof of a prep school is where its children go next, and how well prepared they are when they get there. Our leavers move on to senior schools with a whole range of scholarships and grammar school successes. In the last 4 years, our children have received 219 scholarship offers and achieved 23 grammar school places.
Those scholarships tell the story of this whole blog. Senior schools aren’t only looking for strong grades – they want confident, well-rounded young people who have tested themselves, led others and found what they love. That is exactly what a Littlegarth education produces.
Why would you go anywhere else?
At Littlegarth, your child won’t just be taught. They’ll be challenged, supported, encouraged and celebrated, in the classroom and far beyond it. These are not promises in a prospectus but have tangible, remarkable results, earned by children just like yours.
