QR Station – Nursery
Welcome to Nursery!
We are open 51 weeks of the year, 7.30am-6.30pm and accept the government Early Years funding.
We offer settling in sessions to Nursery, and a smooth transition into Reception, with no additional paperwork or registration: once you are with the school, we look forward to you being here for your child’s journey until age 11.
Nursery sits in its own grounds with play areas on three sides, including the large grassed bank complete with wooden bridge and adjacent small wooded area that can be used for Forest School and outdoor activities close to the Nursery setting; especially useful for younger children.
Nursery children also make use of the whole school site, having regular Forest School sessions from the summer term in Little Explorers at the main Forest School area at the far side of the school site. Nursery children use the Sports Hall and Performing Arts classrooms for weekly PE, Yoga, Music and Drama lessons and have specialist French and some music lessons in their Nursery setting.
There is a specialist activity each weekday during term time – we can advise which days which sessions are on so that you can book the preferred days for your child to be with us. We also run three Saturday sessions a year where Nursery age children can come and play and explore – our next one is on 15 November, please ask for details.
Our Nursery team are highly experienced, phonics trained, kind and nurturing, and come highly recommended by our current parents. They are highly focused on ensuring each child’s progression across the seven areas of learning, with a particular focus on the three prime areas of learning: Communication and Language, Physical Development, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
