QR Station – Humanities Hub

We are not constrained by the National Curriculum in any subject, and in our Humanities programme is testament to this, with our History in the older years expanding past traditional topics into deep discussions and learning on topics such as Windrush, The History of Numbers and the History of Fashion. Philosophy and Ethics is a subject area set to grow at Littlegarth and is currently being trialed in Year 5.   

Year 6 also embark on an Independent Award that takes their ownership of learning to a new level with a similar feel to an A-level  project and values key skills such as study skills, leadership, teamwork, problem solving, communication, organisation, critical thinking, self-reflection that are highly valued as they continue their learning into the future. 

The Humanities Hub is a pastoral base for Year 6 and a dedicated space for Humanities teaching for Years 4-6.
